type='text'>

A heroic deed

Some incidents happened in life which leave marks in our memory and are long cherished.Looking back and recalling such memories, often make you emotional, sometime feeling boasted and othertime ashamed.

well,it happened to me,I got to recal a incident of a couple of years back. There was a rally of BJP in Dehradun,Vajpayee ji,the then PM,was supposed to preside and give a speech.Me and my friend,Rajiv decided to go to the rally and enjoy the witty Atalji's speech.
It was sunday, the venue was fully packed, people moving hither and tither to get a glimpse of their PM.We were standing at the back of the proceeding.Atalji came on the dias and started the speech.Wow,what a starting, with great poetic lines.

I heard in the background some buzzy noise, someone singing a song in a tauntull manner.."bheegey hoth tere..".I move around and saw a lafanga type person, grinning, mumbling the song. The mere glance made me to disgust him,his tere naam style uncombed hair, ogre looking face.I realised he was prying a girl seating across us,the girl was knowing that and was feeling restless. He was continuously gazing at her, making obscene comments.

The girl gave a agitating look to the monster and while she turned around I saw her pathetic eyes gazing me.I don't know why,I suddenly felt the gush of adrenalin in my blood. It seems my blood curdling,my teeths grinding with utmost anger.I turned around with folded fist, and gave a stern blow on his cheeks, with all the power that I can deliver. The monster was completely baffled,it happened so quickly.
Had it been one to one fight,I was in no match to the giant. But I was feeling ,roaring like a lion, fiercely attacking his prey. And in the next moment,I kicked it hard at his ass,and he was lying on the ground.Soon Rajiv yelled out "Kameena, ladki ched raha tha..",the crowd sitting behind alreadycatch hold of the situation. Some adults folk came, one of them slapped him, saying
.."ghar mein maa bahine nahin hain kya ?".Before the matter worsened,he somehow managed to set free him,and ran with electric speed.

All was settled,Atalji's speech still going smoothly. The girl was still feeling restless and uncomfortable, about to burst out.Someone consoled her.She got up to leave, while heading towards her scooty,in a soft tone she said...thanxx.And I was feeling all pride inside, and wished to reflect back in filmy style.."ye to mera farz tha."

PS : I never saw that girl again.
<img width='1' height='1' junkie...

While in School Days,if one ask me "what's my favourite subject?",promptly I would say ,"History".I was so much preoccupied with the history books, that it ensued in passion reading them, even neglecting other sort of things that I do in leisure time. Thanks to our history teacher, the way he taught the subject was no less than watching a movie.Though I wasn't good at mugging the facts, but my obsession was to know about the lifestyle of the people of past.

I was in 6th class, when we had "Ancient India" as part of our history curriculum.I was immensely impressed by the once vibrant grandeur of Indus valley civilisation, that flourished in India some 4000 years ago.The photos of excavated ruins of the Harrapan and Mohanjodareo towns often made me to dream up the bygone chirrupy atmosphere in the streets.
The reasearch from the excavation yielded that the culture was very advanced and scientific. So sophisicated was their script that all research to decipher it are in vain uptill this date, one of the primary reason for our meagre knowledge about this civilisation. It is still uncertain what made them vanished, probable theory suggest mass devastation due to nature fury,or the invasion of Aryans from Middle East.I have all praise for the Harrapan despite knowing we are descendents of Aryans.Had the Harrapan survived India would have been far advanced than
any contemporary culture, far far ahead of America.

I am still amorous towards such ancient glorious civilisation.Thats the reason I have great taste towards movies of this genre, like Troy,LOTR,gladiator......the recent samsh-hit 300.I wish there some kind of time-machine which take me into the depth of the past and witness all such glorious events, infact not only be mere spectator rather mingle as part of their life.

Coming back to the present,I see life around me as illusive and mesmerising, but the virtue of simplicity, genuinity is fading very fast.
<img width='1' height='1' bold;">Sehwag back with a BANG!!!

The inning against Bermuda, must be a stern blow to all the critics of Sehwag who were condemning his inclusion in the World-Cup squad. Its the fact without any doubt, whenever Sehwag is in his nick,it always paved the way for Indian win.Out of his eight centuries,India was victorious in seven. The fiery start from Sehwag is a must for India,a firm root foundation on which other batsman can rely and play their natural game.Currently, he is the only batsman in Indian team with the right temperament and Aussies-like killer attitude.

Always hold his cool on the field, exhibiting his natural game, unleashing the fury of his willow on the opponent team.Remember the disgracing act of the Men in blue at the 2003 world-cup final. After a very pathetic show withbowl, they were supposed to chase a mommoth target of 360.Where all the other batsman had mentallyaccepted their defeat falling prey to Aussies without any fight,it was only Sehwag who with his one-man show tried to shattered the mightyAussies.Unfortunately,he was run out,had been it not,it would have been a close encounter. He made 82 of 81 balls slamming the Austalian bowlers, hitting 10 fours and 3 sixex in his inning.

Well,Dravid deserves a pat on his back for extending his only support to Sehwag, where
all were against him,the selection committe, all leading ex-cricketers and the Indian media
which for its own interest publish the recent Sehwag's dismal show with all spicy flavour.
Its really unusual about Indians, when a player is in his full fervor form,he is worshipped
as god,BUT when he underwent through a period of distress, instead of encouragement he is
abused and disgusted, and every effort is made to expel him out of the team. This is realy insane.
After all they are human beings not God and to err is human being.

I must be one among the most glad-fan for the revival of the tormentor "Sehwag".
Hope the tormentor would show India way to the world-cup final and bring the cup back home, where it deserve to be.

PS:World-Cup fever is on rise,I already got caught.Dont know how I am going to write end-sem.
<img tha.....

Continuing with the theme of my last post(adventure), i will peep furthur to reveal myself as more adventrous and daring.

Again I emphasise that the narration is from my real life experience and is not another piece of creative work.

Do you beleive in ghost?I am sure at first place most of us will discard the existence of ghost, but still we feel very excited about any story related with them.We are thrilled on watching movies pertaining to them. The idea to write this post came into my mind after watching the movie GRUDGE(infact i have watched it many times),really an awesome movie.

From my childhood,i heard lots of stories on ghosts from my grandmother,my parents too,may be at that time they just wanted to curb my ill-deeds,so i donot go far from home,as i was too naughty. It only made me more curious, and i would often ask myself "what type of beings are they".If I befriend a good ghost, then with his power i can do anything at my whims. The idea made me more excited.

I was 14 years then ,studying in 9th class. In summer holidays,i went to visit my ancestral home in Uttarkashi(UA),where my granny and uncle live. The town is situated in beautifull Rawain valley.I am the great lover of nature, have great passion to visit newer and newer places with colourful and vivid landscapes.I with some of my freinds, decided to go for picnic, soon a place was selected. It was a lake in highhill of himalaya, not far from the town, just two hour of trekking the steepy slopes of himalyas.

The place is really awesome. An open and wide field with an oval shaped pond in the middle, resemble much like a cricket field. All five of us put off their clothes and dive straight into the pond. What a chilling time we had there,as if we have reached a different world.Running, yelling as if we gone crazy.I wish time to be stagnant,so enjoy endlessly. But suddenly we realised its 6 in evening, and time to return back.So we pack up to return.

It was faint dark at 6,after we trekked for 1/2 hour it got full dark.Still 1/2 more hour to go,and moonlight was the only light with us to show the path.As we were descending down the hill,it was quite easier to trek.Singing in the stillness of night we were signalling our presence to other creatures. From nearby village we heard some sound of music coming,it was some type of drama (Ramleela) going there,so we decided to join.It was night of full enjoyment for us.I swear to say that, you will surely enjoy such type of drama . We enjoyed it for some hours.

We were on the outskirt of the town.It was midnight and complete silence. And the thud of our pace was breaking the silence. All lights switched of.The barking of dogs in their usual fashion, and the whirr of wind was adding spice to create a ghostly situation. In dim moonlight we saw a person coming towards us with slow steps. As he came nearer he ignored us without giving a look and keep walking. We thought he might be some localite, but where he going at this time.We called him from back two or three times,no response. We didn't cared much, thinking might be some drunken.

After 2 minutes,we realised that someone chasing us from behind, making some strange sound. As we turned back we found the same person some distance away ,staring at us .His face wasn't visible in moonlight. We inquired who he was ,again no response. It enraged us,uttering abusive words we throw stones at him.Still no response. We slowly start feeling the incoming nightmare,we speed up our pace.To our surprise, the person also speed up.And this time he was making horrible sounds and leaping to catch us.We ran as fast as it could be,but no match to the ghostly figure. In a single leap he surpassed us,and blocked our way from infront. We start chanting all the bhajans and mantras with stammering voices, shaking with utmost fear, fixed at our place. All of us started running hapazardously whichever way we were feeling apt.I was running though the faint paths, searching my house.
heavily panting i reached home and for next 2 days i was lying on bed with 90^C+ fever.

Often i apply my reasoning, may be the incident was a mischief that someone played on us.But when u face such situation, all logics fail, and u sure would believe they exist.

Dare to shake hand with death???

By nature i m very adventrous, always seeking oppurtunities to do something new n apart(be it risky). But mind you sometime, being overadventrous cost you and it happened to me this summer while we were having vaccation time at IIT.
I would like you to read whole heartedly as every line of the post narrates my real hardtime experience and is not any imagination work.(as you will find in other's blog)
There was big exitement as vaccation was approaching,it was time to chill out after such a nasty mugging time(of two sems) at IIIT.I had planned all the activities (not involving any type of study work.....full time masti) that i was goin to do.As i reached home, there was shahi welcome at home and usual remarks from parants " he looks so lean and feeble".As it was pre-decided to have some adventure this time,i thought of making some good health. So,I joined gym for some 15 dys.
The journey started exactly on 1 june 2006,when i left Dehradun for Uttarkashi(Uttarkashi is some 150 kms from Dehradun to the north)where my Maternal Uncle lives. It was great feeling to be in a place after such a long time, where you spent your childhood days.I met my all near and dears and felt the glance of the time which i spent with them some years ago. After enjoying some 2-3 days ,i inform Mammaji of my plans to have some adventrous trip.My plan was to visit a plateau,Danda Devrana(as it is called in local language). It got a temple of Lord Shiva built there .It lacks any type of human settlemente as condition there are very tuff to cope up with.Only once a year people came from far places to visit the temple and it's a great celeberation time there. This plateau is in the lap of Himalaya, some 2500 m above sea-level.From my childhood i always heard about its beautifulness and legends dat God Shiva comes there for his meditation. So,now i wanted to end this curiosity and might be i am lucky to encounter the God there.
Though Mammaji didn't discourage me,but offer some better options."lets go to shimla or gangotri or vaishno-devi".But i was determined and keep on insisting and at last all was settled. We(Mammaji and me) were going to have an expedition. We packed all the necessary things with us and was ready for the departure. It was a 1 n 1/2 day jouney from our present location. We started at mid-noon,after having good breakfast. Our night was going to be spent at a cottage on halfway which is occassionally used by the travellers.
what kinda can you hope this journey? It was real ordeal for me.Initially,The wide enthusiasm in me make me to gallop like a horse on the steepy slopes of himalayas. But after a while, all faded,i was struggling to follow Mammji from behind.Trekking for 10 minutes and then resting for 20 minutes,we were now going this way.In the meanwhile while resting,I would adore the rich flaura n fauna, the thik dense devadar forest around, flowers of all kinds and shades diplaying all possible types of colours ,bird chirupping giving releif to your mind.Isn't it heaven?I wish to remain there forever with nothin to worry.(no C assignment to work with neither any class to attend).I often wonder why only we homosapiens develop such complications for us.At the developing stage like other beings,he was provided with such serene nature.and look where we endup and where other beings. We called this difference as brain(that we are supposed to possess).Infact,we damn species are the biggest fool of all,for we are destroying this motherly nature that created us.
I m not here to give any type of philosphy, let resume the trekking from resting phase.Meanwhile we had some refreshment. It realy gave some energy, and we started again ,me singing at high pitch the song"Mussafir hoon yaron,na ghar hai na thikana..."."Oops what a view" i yelled as i view around from a high rock.I never saw anythin of that kinda before.I took out my camera and stood on the top of the rock and started taking snpas from all angle of th place.Suddenly i heard some hissing sound.I turn around and try to inquire what it was.
"Ooh my goodness, what it is.....a biggggg k-k-kobra."I cried out stammeringly, with all power in my throat. The camera from my hand slipped in bewilderment and fell down, this made him more annoyed,as he was sleeping under the shade of the rock. What i got him was....a glimse of his huge body for 5 seconds.I never had seen such a snake in my life, even on television.I have seen many programmes of Discovery on snakes, but i would say there is no match for this species. He was a giant,2 times in length as compared to my height and in thickness it would measure to my thigh.Having look at its giant body,i thought it would be a python, but when i saw the head having a om mark on it,i got i am facing a giant kobra. The hissing sound as loud as someone taking breath,he was staring at me,for it was me who disturbed his sleep. In a flash,he could have raised his head and cought me.But i would say it a miracle, nothing of that kind happen, and it give me oppurtunity to save my life.In a flash,i make a big leap from the rock like a monkey and ran steadily without gasping for breath. After i realised, that i have ran quite far from the giant'place,i look around for Mammaji ,he was beside me,looking very tense. He did not saw that giant, and therefore asked what happened. When i told him about the giant kobra,he was in pure disbelief."Oh man you saw the Lord Shiva in disguise of a kobra."he said to me.Perhaps it may be,because snakes are never of that kinds.I wish i could have taken the snap of that giant,as aproof of my encounter with Lord shiva, but I was damn fool throwing my camera there. And it was far from my dream to go again there and pick up the camera and take the sanp of the sleeping giant.
We rested untill came into our senses.Mammaji asked me to forgot about the event as such events are common in jungle, but he was not aware of what i saw, since it was only me who witnessed it.I tried my best to forgot but every time the picture of hissing head of kobra came into my mind,a shivers run through my whole body.Without talking we trek ahead and after few minutes we reached the cottage. It was getting dark by now.We could saw a faint light comming from the cottage.I was happy to know that some travellers were already there to spent night.
The cottage had a a single room with a small kitchen and over it the thatched roof of bamboo. After having aquainted with them,we told them about our expedition. They warned it was not safe to go there these days,as weather was too bad and wild animals are roaming in open. These people were going back to their home with their herd of sheeps and goats which they carry after the rainy season to highhills,as at that time the pasture is found in abundant.I was feeling so hungry( so hungry that if IIT mess food was served,i could double my usual diet......u can guessed how hungry i was).We prepared common meal, which consist of rice, some kinda of dal,and no vegetable.I never realised how delicious a food could be,in that situation. After filling every inch of my stomach,I could saw the relief,as my hungerness faded.
As I was feeling weary,I took a shawl from my bag and went to sleep, there was no bed,a wooden plank was kept over the floor meant to be a luxurious bed for the travellers. After everyone finished with their meal, all were sitting in the room and were realting their experience to each other.I tried to make deaf ear to them but couldn't,one of them was narrating his encounter with a ghost while travelling in the night this way.I gave all type of condolescenses to myself to wipe out my fear, but all invain. In some circumstances you are compelled to believe the things at you dont't believe,it was one of those circumstance.Suddenly, i felt that i need to attend call by nature,it was hard to control.I woke up and asked Mammaji to company me.I took torch and went outside, other persons offer to company if we are afraid, but refused.I was cursing my stoamch to overeat.I searched a place to untidy.I was flashing torch around in fear.As i was flashing i got a glimpse of two bright dots of light some distance away.I thoght it some type of flying insects. But it was continuously glowing.I inquire what it was, so i went near(see my adventrous nature).I was some 5 feets away from the object, when i flashed torched on it."H-H-H-Help-p-p , a T-tigger-r-r.....Mammaji ,Mammaji..." i continuously yelled, dumbstruck at my place.I have never seen a tiger in my real life, his eyes shimmering like a lamp in the night .And again this horrifying figure was staring at me.His eyes were fixed at me and head steady up,makin growling sound.I don't know what to do,as if i forgot to run.But agian the same miracle happened, the tiger was in its place and made no movement. It was almost for 15 seconds that he and me was just staring at each other. As i return to my senses, i signalled my leg to run."run run run yogesh, you bloddy fool ,why you came to such a place."Iwas cursing myself.I didnt saw anything in my way just keep running towards the light comming from the cottage, behind me Mammaji yelling for me.Many times i fell down bruised my legs, but the fear to save my life make me to ignore all these.Hearing my crying all the people came outside and held me.I was panting heavily unable to answer any of their question. Some one of them bring water and gave to me.After few minutes, when i realised i am alive,i broke into a sudden laughter.Everyone was amazed at my behaviour,as if i have gone mad.I do only know how narrow escape was this, where i had shaked hand with the death and that too two times.
i couldn't slept all the night.Early in the morning i woke Mammaji and told him to return"i have enough of this Mammaji,i can't go ahead."Mammaji was also afraid for my well-being,so he gave his consent. So,we retraced our path, and my dream to visit the plateau remains a dream. When i told about my experiences at home, everyone was in disbelief.I don't have any proof to show them, even only wittnessee was I.
I often think how it happened to me and that too two times.May be it was an encounter with the Lord shiva .

Om Shanti Om.
